Cook Search 2008

Hundreds search for missing woman

MARSHALL — Hundreds of volunteers and emergency responders gathered in Marshall Saturday morning to help search for 28-year-old Courtney Cook, missing since Jan. 19.

At the conclusion of the search, Marshall Sgt. Tim Bryant said the effort did not reveal new clues in the case.

Participants split up into 26 different search teams of four to six people, with a trained emergency responder in each group. Group leaders reported by radio back to the control center, and search areas were mapped on a computer as they were reported.

The search area spanned about two square miles around the area where Cook was last seen, near Love's Truck Stop at Partello Road and I-94 at 4:30 a.m. Jan. 19. Marshall police officers confirmed that about 100 emergency responders and an additional 100 civilian volunteers combined in the effort.
